Petlet Lancet 3-D Rendering

January 30, 2017 By

When detailed engineering drawings are available for a product, 3-D rendering is the most cost-effective way to create dynamic, high-resolution images. The cost of 3-D rendering used to be much greater than “real” photography but advances in 3-D software weighed against the amount of retouch time required to create that “perfect” product shot make 3-D rendering the smart choice – and the quality cannot be matched.

Fortunately Petlet was the designer of this device and engineering drawings were available to create a very detailed 3-D rendering that allows for control of colors, materials, lighting and camera angle – all in a virtual environment.

The combination of the two made this project for Swiss-based, Jean-Michelle — Energie Vitale particularly challenging but layers of digital retouching elevate this “actual” photography to a 3D-rendering level.
